Flathead Cleanup Efforts Boosted by Whitefish Community Foundation Grant!
It was an honor to receive a Whitefish Community Foundation Community Grant of $2,086.00 last week! Flathead Rivers Alliance will leverage this grant to purchase Flathead Basin Reusable Water Cleanup Bag Stations with Leave No Trace Messaging in partnership with the Montana Waters Clearly Connected campaign. Kiosks with free grab-n-go reusable cleanup bags will make their debut, later in June, in 15 water-related retail and rental shops along with visitor centers. This will expand the annual waters cleanup event to a ‘Clean up All Year’ initiative, empowering residents and visitors to pick up litter and collect their own while enjoying the Flathead Basin’s waterways.
Congratulations to the nonprofits that received a grant at our Community Grant Awards Celebration last week! Whitefish Community Foundation presented $383,201 in grants and special awards to 46 nonprofit organizations representing projects and programs in Bigfork, Browning, Columbia Falls, Eureka, Evergreen, Hungry Horse, Kalispell and Whitefish. www.whitefishcommunityfoundation.org
