Message from the President + 2024 Accomplishments
Dear Supporters of Flathead Rivers Alliance,
As the President of FRA, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication to the preservation of the Flathead River system. Together, we have worked to protect and enhance the natural beauty and recreational opportunities these wild and scenic rivers provide.
In the coming months, an important milestone will shape the future of the Flathead River: The Flathead National Forest in conjunction with Glacier National Park will be rolling out the draft of the Comprehensive River Management Plan. This plan will guide the stewardship, management, and use of the three forks of the Flathead River for the next 30-40 years, ensuring that its pristine waters, scenic landscapes, and multitude of outstanding remarkable values remain a source of enjoyment for generations to come.
Our organization is committed to working closely with the managing agencies and other stakeholders throughout the rollout, especially during the scoping and public comment period. We will continue to advocate for balanced policies that reflect our shared passion for the Flathead River while addressing the challenges that come with increasing recreational use. Rest assured, we will keep you informed about key dates, times, and developments that arise.
It is imperative that we approach this process collaboratively, engaging both private and commercial stakeholders to establish a sustainable path forward. Together, we can ensure that these magnificent wild and scenic rivers remain a source of inspiration, adventure, and tranquility for future generations.
Thank you for your steadfast support of the Flathead Rivers Alliance. Your commitment makes our work possible. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season.
